Overview

Everything on the UK side, joined up

Arranging surgery abroad can mean dealing with many different people. Complete Journey brings the UK parts together, so nothing is missed between stages.

Your UK clinicians screen you, help you compare overseas partner clinics reviewed against our Partner Standards, and review you after you return. Information moves with you, with your consent.

VidaMed does not own clinics and does not perform surgery. Your chosen overseas clinic carries out your procedure and remains responsible for it.

Timeline

The journey from start to finish

Timings are typical and depend on your procedure and travel dates.

  1. 10 to 8 weeks before

    First conversation

A consultation to understand your health, goals and questions. You are introduced to your coordinator.

  2. 8 to 6 weeks before

    Screening and tests

History, measurements and blood tests, with an ECG where indicated. Your clinician reviews results with you.

  3. 6 to 4 weeks before

    Clinic choice and summary

We help you compare partner clinics. Your Surgical Readiness Summary is shared with your chosen clinic with your consent.

  4. Final weeks

    Travel preparation

We confirm what to bring, what to ask your clinic and how to reach us while you are away.

  5. While abroad

    In touch if needed

Your treating clinic looks after you in person. For emergencies abroad, contact your treating clinic and local emergency services.

  6. Return, within days

    First UK review

Your clinician checks your wounds and recovery and reviews your discharge information.

  7. Weeks 2 to 6

    Follow-up reviews

Scheduled checks, with imaging through diagnostic partners where clinically indicated.

  8. Month 3 and beyond

    Final review and handover

A broader check on your recovery. Where relevant, a summary goes to your GP with your consent.

Continuity

A single point of contact

One named coordinator

The same person guides you through each stage. You do not need to repeat your story to a new team each time.

Clinical questions answered by clinicians

Your coordinator brings in your UK clinician for anything medical, so you get a clear and appropriate answer.

Information that follows you

Your results, summary and review notes are kept together. With your consent, they are shared with your clinic and GP.

Questions

Common questions

Do I have to use a clinic you recommend?

No. We help you compare partner clinics, but the choice is yours. If you have already chosen a clinic, we can still screen you and arrange aftercare.

Can I start with one service and upgrade later?

Often, yes. Speak to us and we will explain how to move to Complete Journey.

What if I decide not to travel?

You can change your mind at any point. See pricing and our terms for how changes are handled.
